Honey herbal soap

The recipe to make it yourself

Making your own honey herbal soap

Breathe in deeply for a quick energy boost! You think you can't do this at home? Of course you can!

You can use our soap recipe for example!
If you are now nodding your head in agreement, you may be one of those sorely afflicted by the coronavirus situation. Did the panic buyers beat you to the supermarket yet again? You simply cannot get any more soap because the shelves are empty? All the other soaps simply don’t smell good or they contain dubious ingredients? No reason to be sad! Just grab the ingredients to make the soap yourself and off you go! It really isn't difficult to make handmade soap!
And by the way, there doesn't have to be a virus to make wonderfully fragrant soaps yourself. After all, regular, thorough hand-washing with soap is always worth doing, isn't it? Also, it is great fun to make your own soap and an excellent pastime if the weather happens to keep you indoors.

But homemade soap has plenty of other advantages too!

The fact is that regular, thorough hand-washing with soap is an absolute MUST to keep viruses and bacteria at bay! And the good thing is that if you make your own soap, you can decide what to put in it! And it is sustainable too – completely without artificial aromas, perfumes or microplastics!

You can let your imagination run wild

If you need a little inspiration, use our Em‑eukal Gumdrops as a starting point. Just like any good soap, only natural ingredients and essential oils are used to make the gumdrops too.  If you pop a Herb and Honey Gumdrop in your mouth first, you can savour plenty of essential herbal oils, extracts and honey on your tongue before you get down to business. We are quite confident that if the palate finds something enjoyable, the skin will like it too 😉  Just grab one of our delicious Em‑eukal Herb and Honey Gumdrops, enjoy it, breathe in deeply, roll up your sleeves and set to work! True to the motto. "Chew to get through!" If you read on, you will find the recipe and the ingredients!
Soap

For two soaps you will need:

150g raw soap
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp almond oil
10 drops of an essential herbal oil of your choice
and various dried herbs (e.g. sage, rosemary, thyme, peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus...)
Silicone moulds

1. Soap basis

Cut the raw soap into small pieces and melt slowly in a water bath. (Please follow the manufacturer's instructions).  Don't stir too vigorously otherwise air bubbles may form. You could also use translucent glycerine soap of course or make the soap yourself from scratch. Now stir 2 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp almond oil and 10 drops of essential oil into the mass...

2. Herbal soap

In the meantime, lay the dried herbs (flowers or leaves) into the little silicone moulds. It is best to crumble the leaves slightly to make them smaller. Rubbing them will also help to release the aromatic scent of the herbs.

3. Soap moulds

Pour the liquid soap into the moulds quickly. You can then lay a few herbs on the top if you like. Then let the soap dry well over a period of several days.

4. Be proud!

The herbal soap can be stored in a cool place for a few weeks. However, the leaves may become discoloured after a while so it is best to use the soap straightaway or give it away as a gift.
